How to Send Your LogoDigitized in Tajima (.dst) Format This is self-explanatory. If you have access to Tajima digitizing software, you may produce and submit your logo in this format. Machine-Readable Artwork in JPEG (.jpg), GIF, or TIF Format These formats will need to be digitized before using to embroider your logo. There is a one-time fee for digitizing your logo. A fee quote will be provided upon receipt of your logo. Note that there are issues involved with the selection of which of these formats to use, as described below. GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) - This is a widely-used format which has advantages and disadvantages. Advantages: Produces small file size; lossless compression (no image data is lost in conversion to gif); works well with limited color palette (maximum 256 colors in gif). Disadvantage: Limited color gamut for complex images. This should not be a problem for most logotypes, since they are typically not "photographic" images. JPG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) - This format is also widely used, but is most suitable for specific image types, typically described as "photographic." Advantages: Produces small file size; unlimited color gamut. Disadvantage: It is a "lossy" compression model. Every time a jpg image is saved after editing, more image information is removed. The algorithm is designed to remove information unlikely to affect perceived image quality, but repeated iterations do degrade quality. TIF (Tagged Image File) - This is a bitmap format which preserves all image data. Even if you decide to submit using one of the preceding formats, it is suggested that you do all of your image manipulation and editing in this or another "pure" bitmap format supported by your editor, then when the image is ready, Export (or Save As...) to the chosen compressed format. Disadvantage: Extremely large file sizes compared to jpg or gif. Hardcopy Image Submission If you wish, you may send detailed, clear, camera-ready artwork that is capable of being scanned, digitized, and reproduced. Mail to: 242 Mary Grubbs Highway, Walton, KY 41094. Before any logos are embroidered on wearable items, the customer will be asked to approve the logo or logos in terms of size, color, etc. Sew outs (logo embroidered on a piece of fabric) can be provided for approval. |
